Wyndham Rewards offers an elite category program that, like most hotel loyalty programs, offers brand benefits for guests, such as room upgrades and bonus points. However, true to Wyndham roots, this program is not as valuable as other high-end programs like the Hyatt.
The program includes three elite levels: gold, platinum, and diamond. Status can be achieved if you spend enough time at Wyndham hotels in a calendar year or if you have one of the Wyndham credit cards with you.
Wyndham Blue
All members are automatically added to the blue layer. As a blue member, you have the opportunity to accumulate and redeem points. The only advantage of the hotel is the free Wi-Fi connection during your stay.
Wyndham Gold
Wyndham Gold status is extremely easy – it only lasts for three nights a year. While maintaining gold status looks elegant, the benefits are unimportant at best. The only real benefit of Wyndham Gold is a 10% bonus on all points earned on qualifying stays.
Consider the big jump between platinum and diamond status and the fact that diamond status cannot be purchased with a credit card. You’d think Diamond Status would offer some premium perks (free breakfast, anyone?), But as you can see from the table below, it’s not much better.
Wyndham Platinum
After nine nights, the members are promoted to platinum status. Benefits include early check-in when available, upgrades to Avis and Budget car rentals, and the ability to customize Caesars Rewards status.
Platinum members also receive a 15% hotel stay bonus to help them get their credit back faster.
Wyndham Diamond
Wyndham Premium status requires 24 nights per year. The main benefit is the upgrade to a suite in each room when a basic suite is available. It’s not just a sold out case, some Wyndham brands only have standard rooms.
